Sunshine is the order of the day. Perhaps the car will receive a much- needed spruce- up! About time too!!

The fingers are hardening off at last which is making playing the new mandolin a bit easier. Scales and finger- picking are the order of the days until Dougal voices his disquiet by putting his paws over his ears- then it's time to stop and give the poor wee fellow a rest or pick up the guitar instead- which has less strident notes.

All in all days are busy as ever, although I can't quite believe that we're almost a week away from December! Where has the year gone??

Today we're off to meet up with Betty who has just recently returned from an adventurous trip to Thailand. An ambition of hers was to have a balloon ride- something she achieved on this trip. We look forward to seeing the pictures!

The first jaunt

Bought myself a pair of long boots that zipped up easily over my skinny jeans! How thrilled I was with that!!

Not the eight- might be the 9 or 40 or 20 - such is our choice of transport from this city location. We'll be heading out after lunch to make our first visit to Glasgow- the first of many in the days to come!

The sun is shining! Time for a good jaunt.
As usual we are sitting with laptops on knees. Douglas is on his couch and we are considering what to do with the day.

Testing an iPad blog

Having found so many old friends again, it seems right to blog here where we began our on-line connection so long ago.

It's now 2011, time has flown adding wrinkles to the skin, more grey(white!!!!) to the hair, and less mobility to the legs. Time ages us with experiences. Challenges wait on the edge where once they were right in our faces. People come and go into our lives impacting for shorter periods, as we choose to maintain control and NOT respond as vigorously as once would have been the case. Grazing in a field close to the warmth of the shed, where once upon a time the high hills beckoned and the view from the top was easily reached.

It's nice to be back and looking forward to meeting and catching up with friends!

Back ........after a WEE spell away!!

Well it's about time I picked up where I left off on this old blog. Haven't posted anything for a YEAR!!! But then I only keep this as a reference, so that I can help others use the blogger format. It's very good, but I prefer my own blog which has many advantages and can be radically changed if I need it to be.

Getting back to blogging

I've been having a break for blogging for a while oourtesy of increased website development work and a lack of time. All that will change. I hope to post more often and produce a few more painted pieces to display here on my Silver Surfer Gallery.
